Brian K. Dixon, Owner
Brian is the owner of Dickens Turf and Landscape Supply. Brian purchased Dickens on December 11, 2000 from the family of Paul Dickens. Paul founded the company in 1991 and was actively involved until his death in 2000. Since 2000, Dickens revenue has grown 20% per year and has expanded with new warehouse locations in Coolsprings (Brentwood) and Murfreesboro.
Brian has been happily married 21 years to his wife, Clokie. Brian grew up in Indiana and graduated from Wabash College. After receiving a MBA from the Owen Graduated School of Management at Vanderbilt University, Brian’s accepted an offer to work at Arthur Andersen. After Arthur Andersen, Brian spent many years in corporate healthcare with several successful public companies and helped start a private company.
Brian followed his passion for the green industry when an opportunity to purchase Dickens became available. In 2001, Dickens joined a newly founded purchasing cooperative for independent turf distributors called Primeraturf. Encouraged by the advice of his family to become active in organizations he belonged, Brian was elected to the board of Primeraturf and served as its Chairman for 2 years. Dickens supports many industry organizations and sponsors continuing industry education for its customers and employees.
Brian is actively involved as an Elder in First Presbyterian Church where he has served as Treasurer of the church and its governing body, Presbytery; and has participated in mission work with the church and denomination. Brian enjoys cooking and playing racquetball. Brian and Clokie enjoy traveling together as much as they can.

Brad Wilkinson, CoolSprings Manager
Brad graduated from Western Kentucky University with a degree in Turf and Golf management. He spent 6 years in commercial lawn and landscape maintenance and 5 years in golf course management, 3 of those as a golf course superintendent. Brad is the store manager of the Dickens Turf and Landscape Supply Company CoolSprings location.
Brad is married to a wonderful young lady Shelly, and they have a daughter, Bailey, who is 14 and a son, Colton, who is 12. They spend a lot of time at the park as both of their children are heavily involved in athletics.

Greg Johns
Greg Johns began his career after graduating in 1991 from Louisiana Tech
University with a B.S. in Horticulture with emphasis in landscape
architecture and moved to Nashville, Tn. to run sales and design with
Riverfront Landscape Co. After working with that firm for nearly a year and
a half, he chartered out on his own to become president and majority owner
of Landscape Design Group based out of Mt. Juliet, Tn. for approx. six years
before selling the business in 1997.
He then became manager with Nationwide Homes of Texas managing a
manufactured homes dealership in Gallatin, Tn. for nearly two years.
In the Spring of 1999 Greg once again entered back into the "greens
industry" to start the specialty turf division (golf and sports turf) for
Dickens Turf and Landscape supply where he worked for two years before
accepting a sales rep. position with a nationally known fertilizer
formulator based out of the deep south. After serving two years calling on
the middle and West Tennessee market, he then returned to Dickens Turf and
Landscape Supply in November of 2003 to present where he covers the middle
and north Tennessee as well as the south Ky. areas.
Greg resides in Franklin, Ky. with his wife and 12 year old son where his
hobbies include weight lifting, playing sports and home landscaping.

John Gardner
Born in 1971 in Jackson Tennessee, John attended Jackson Central Merry High school and after graduation attended the University of Tn at Knoxville, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture.
I started my career in the turfgrass field by maintaining the ball fields for the Jackson Parks and Recreation Department, little did I know that the foundation laid would result in a life in the field of turfgrass management. After working internships at several golf courses in the Knoxville area I took a job at Bluegrass Yacht and Country Club in Hendersonville, TN where I worked for 12 years and attained the status of Certified Golf Course Superintendent.
I have spent the last two years working for Dickens Turf and Landscape Supply in the West Tennessee, Memphis, and Mid-south area where we have established a territory and formed invaluable relationships with golf course superintendents, sports field managers, and landscapers. Presently I am transferring to the East side of the state where I look forward to maintaining current relationships with our customers. I look forward to continuing the goal of providing practical and economical solutions to maintaining a healthy turf, outstanding sports field’s, and weed free landscapes to our friends in the turfgrass industry!

Drew Sullivan
Drew Sullivan is a native Nashvillian and a graduate of John Overton High School. He began his landscape career at John Waller Landscaping while attending Middle Tennessee State University. Drew worked for Waller for 18 years in various positions including landscape installation supervisor, purchasing , and garden center manager. “There are many aspects of the landscape business that I learned while working with John Waller. I would not trade my years there for any amount of professional training. Hard work and customer service was No.1 then and still is everyday at Dickens Turf and landscape Supply.”
After leaving Waller, Drew started his own landscape maintenance business. It was during this time that Paul Dickens was starting Dickens Supply. “ My part-time career started with Paul in the spring of 1992. With Paul’s early success, my landscape days ended and my full-time Dickens Supply career started in the fall of 1992.”
Drew is a member of the Tennessee Turfgrass Association, Tennessee Valley Sports Turf Association, Tennessee Nursery and Landscape Association, and on the board of directors of the Professional Landscape Association of Nashville Tennessee (PLANT). Drew was presented the William James Reilly Salesperson of the Year award by the TNLA in January of 2007.
Drew is the proud father of four sons. His hobbies include gardening (imagine that), golf , cooking , and coaching youth baseball.

David Hickey
Born in Madison, Tennessee, David is a ASE certified boat and automotive technician. David has over 36 years of mechanical experience. He is married to Sara and has 2 children, Neil and Cindy. David currently serves as a technician in Murfreesboro and Cool Springs.

Gustavo Palos
Born in Ocean Side California, Gus has been with Dickens since 2001 and is responsible for the Nashville warehouse operation and provides delivery services for our customers. He is married to Lila and has 4 children.

Juan Torres
Born in Pastor Oritz Michoacan, Mexico, Juan has been with Dickens since 2002. He assists in the warehouse operation, and spends most of his time making deliveries to our customers. He is married to Veronica and has 2 children.

Edward Lewis
Edward was born in Nashville, Tennessee. He started his career for 5th Avenue Garage as a mechanic. After that he spent 6 years with the State of Tennessee, 18 years with the city of Clarksville and was a self-employed mechanic for 10 years. He has worked at Dickens for 7 years. Since 2007 Edward has worked part-time so that he can enjoy fishing and hunting every chance he gets. He has been married for 37 years to Peggy Marie and they have 4 grown boys. Edward is a technician in Nashville.

Jessica Deras
Born in Nashville, Jessica joined Dickens in 2009. She assists in sales in Murfreesboro and Cool Springs. She has a plant and soil science degree from Middle Tennessee State University. After college, she worked at Opryland Hotel as a Senior gardener in the exterior horticulture department. She has worked with Trugreen, John Deere Landscapes and a local landscape company.

John Jordan
Born in Ravenna Ohio, John graduated from Kenton Ridge High School, in Springfield Ohio. John worked at Worthington Hill Country Club right out of high school until he moved to Franklin TN, then went to work at Forrest Crossing Golf Course on the maintenance crew for 3 years. Jonh worked at Nashville Golf & Athletic Club maintenance crew for 2 years. Twelve Stones Crossing Gold Course maintenance crew for 1 year then became assistant superintendent for for 2 years. Operated a commercial and residential lawn and landscape company for 2 years.

Terry West
Terry graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a B.S. in Plant and Soil Science. He is 46 years old and is happily married to Kimberly for 14 years. Terry also is the proud father of Kristina 19, Sydney 12 and Samantha 9. Terry enjoys all sports and coaching his daughters softball teams.

Tyler Wilson
Tyler graduated from Cheatham County Central High School in 2000 with honors. In 1999 he earned the FFA state farmer award in agribusiness. Tyler then graduated from Lipscomb University in 2004 with degrees in Finance/Economics & Management. He started working for Dickens Supply in 1996 doing warehouse duties on a part-time basis, and has been employed ever since. Tyler is Dickens Supply's Equipment and Parts Manager. Tyler is married to Haley.

Barrett Rowsey
Barrett graduated at Biggersville High School where he was a scholar athlete. He then went on to finish his college career at Mississippi State University in the majoring in Agronomy with an emphasis in golf and sports turf management, while working at Mississippi State University course. Since then he has work ed as an agronomist for Tee to Green, a custom applicator company. He has also been the sales manager and agronomist for Scruggs Farm, Lawn and Garden a large agricultural wholesale chemical store in North Mississippi. He is married to a wonderful woman, Dianna, who shares my interest family, church, athletics, golf, our Labradors, hunting and fishing.
